Leading into the Denim Shop, several mannequins sit on a platform covered in recycled denim for an added accent to the room.
*** NOVEMBER 2018 UPDATE ***
The denim shop sign was moved to the center of the store to feel more intimate.
The shape of the denim shop sign was cut out of luan board. Wood pieces were used to create structure and suspension between the front and the back. The side pieces were drilled to fit the wires and light sockets.
"The Denim Shop" letters were dyed with indigo ink and set proportionally on the front face.
Anthropologie sent gold and copper shapes to each of their stores to treat with the patina effect.
Layers of acrylic paint, gold interference paint, and flour were added to the shapes. When dried, the flour created a matte, crackled texture to simulate natural patina.
